Fujitsu relies on WinProp's indoor propagation models and LTE simulator

Fujitsu purchased multiple licenses of WinProp's indoor propagation engine and LTE simulator module to integrate them via WinProp's flexible APIs into Fujitsu's simulation software packages.

Renault selected WinProp

The French car manufacturer Renault selected WinProp's time variant propagation engine to simulate the time-variant mobile radio channel around cars. The propagation models will be integrated based on WinProp's flexible API into Renault's simulation software.

EILT project started

The project EILT (EmItter Localization under MulTipath Propagation Conditions), co-funded by the BMBF (German Ministry of Research), was successfully started at April 01, 2012. Within EILT the ray-optical propagation models will be extended to build a simulation platform for the evaluation of localization algorithms.

Our distributor Johokobo sold WinProp's propagation models for rural, urban, and indoor scenarios together with the LTE network simulator to two major companies in the wireless market of Japan.

SIFUKO project successfully completed

The project SIFUKO, co-funded by the BMBF (German Ministry of Research), was successfully completed in March 2012. Within SIFUKO the propagation models for time-variant scenarios were extended to consider radar cross sections of complex objects (to accelerate the computations in complex scenarios).

Publication in the Microwave Journal

Together with EMSS the paper Compact Antenna for MIMO LTE Mobile Phone Applications related to the impact of the antenna design on the performance of MIMO in LTE was published in the Microwave Journal.

New customer in Australia: Simplexity

Simplexity Communications, a leading professional services provider in the wireless ICT area (Information and Communications Technology), selected WinProp for the analysis of mobile radio networks with different air interfaces (e.g. LTE, 3G, WiMAX,...) in indoor, urban, and combined urban/indoor scenarios.

NICT in Japan selected WinProp

Our Japanese distributor Johokobo sold the WinProp software suite to the NICT (National Institute of Information and Communications Technology) in Japan.

Year 2012: WinProp already sold on all continents

The WinProp software suite was sold on all continents in the first weeks of 2012. Customers in Africa (Senegal), America (Canada), Asia (China, Japan), Australia (New Zealand), and Europe (Belgium, France, Germany, Poland,...) purchased the products of AWE Communications.

Year 2011: The successful story of AWE Communications continued

AWE Communications was able to increase the revenue again in 2011. After the company achieved its highest revenue in history in 2010, the expectations for 2011 were very high. And the company was able to increase its revenue in 2011 significantly and to grow again in all segments more than expected.
So the successful story of AWE Communications continued and we want to thank all our customers and partners for the excellent cooperation during the last 12 months.

New customers: InterDigital and CCIT selected WinProp

The US company InterDigital and the CCIT in China selected the WinProp software suite for the propagation analysis in urban and indoor scenarios.
Both want to integrate the very flexible propagagtion engines via the API into their own software packages.

New customer: Graniou

The French company Graniou is specialized in the development of telecommunications infrastructure, and provides telecommunications solutions to fixed networks and mobile network operators, telecommunications equipment suppliers and local authorities.
For these services in indoor and tunnel scenarios, Graniou intends to work now with the WinProp software suite.

Project FORUM successfully finished

The public funded project FORUM (FemtO cells in heteRogenoUs Mobile networks) was successfully finished after 16 months. Within FORUM the WinProp Software Suite was extended for the analysis of femto cells for 3G and LTE radio networks. Here especially the CNP module for the combined indoor and urban scenarios was significantly improved.

AUDI starts cooperation with AWE Communications

The German car manufacturer AUDI started a cooperation with AWE Communications to analyze and improve the MIMO performance for the LTE air interface for cars. WinProp's highly accurate propagation models for urban and rural scenarios will be used to analyze the mobile radio channel between base stations and cars in time-variant scenarios.

The new Japanese distributor Accuver sold WinProp to a R&D team of a Japanese manufacturer of equipment for cellular infrastructure. They will use WinProp for the propagation analysis in rural, urban, and indoor scenarios as well as in combined urban/indoor scenarios.

Omnitele selects Propagation Plug-In for Aircom Enterprise

Omnitele, a telecommunications consulting and services company located in Finland, decided to purchase the WinProp Multi Scenario Model plug-in for the radio network planning suite of Aircom. The WinProp plug-in combines short prediction times with highly accurate results in urban and dense urban environments.

CERN selects WinProp for WLAN and TETRA network design

CERN Laboratory, one of the world’s largest and most respected centers for scientific research, purchased two WinProp licenses for the planning of its internal WLAN and TETRA networks. As the wireless networks to be installed will cover large campuses with dozens of buildings, CERN will use the Combined Network Planning Module of WinProp for the overall network planning. This module allows the processing of different scenarios (suburban, urban, and indoor) within one project in ProMan.

Cassidian relies on the competence of AWE Communications

The EADS company Cassidian is a worldwide leader in global security solutions and systems, providing lead system integration and value-added products and services to various customers around the globe.
In the cooperation with Cassidian, AWE Communications develops propagation engines for rural scenarios to be integrated into the software products of Cassidian and to be re-sold by Cassidian to the end customers. Especially the strong scientific background of AWE Communications and the long experience in wave propagation modeling convinced Cassidian to rely in the future on the knowledge of AWE Communications.

Pepperl+Fuchs is a leading developer and manufacturer of electronic sensors and components for the global automation market. To strengthen their position in the market of wireless sensors, they decided to work internally with multiple licenses of WinProp and to resell WinProp's Connectivity Simulator to their customers.

Qualcomm selects WinProp Propagation Plug-In

Qualcomm, the world leader in 3G and next-generation mobile technologies with more than 140 locations around the globe, selected the WinProp propagation plug-in to improve the radio network planning in dense urban areas and in hybrid outdoor/indoor scenarios. Especially the integration of the indoor propagation engine into the propagation plug-in of Forsk's Atoll RNP convinced Qualcomm together with the high accuracy achieved in the benchmark.

Mercedes relies on WinProp simulations

In a new project - funded by the German car manufacturer Mercedes - the interaction between DVB-T and LTE signals at passenger cars is evaluated with WinProp's highly accurate propagation models. The goal of the project is to find the perfect location for the antennas on the car to reduce the interference between DVB-T and LTE, especially if the car is located close to a DVB-T transmitter. Comparison with measurements are used to validate the accuracy of the simulations.

Within the last 5 months WinProp has again been sold on all continents. Many customers in Africa (e.g. 4G Technology), America (e.g. Toyota), Asia (e.g. Huawei), Australia (e.g. MariGrassi), and Europe (e.g. Andrew) rely on WinProp and use the new V11 with outstanding new features.
