If you want to download the software, please refer to http://www.winprop.de/download_e.html or (as alternative if your name-server does not address winprop.de) http://129.69.95.250/download_e.html New Features have been implemented in the new release and more of the old features are now available even in the demo-version. ********************************************************************** ********************************************************************** NEW FEATURES OF DEMO-VERSION ********************************************************************** The new demo-version features now: - Terrain Mode Prediction models for large areas (e.g. macrocells for cellular networks or transmitters for the broadcasting of TV and radio networks). Prediction based on topographical data bases. Additional consideration of morphological data also possible. Available models in the demo-version are - Hata-Okumura - Parabolic Equations Further models are available in the full version. - Point and Line Mode For all prediction models (terrain/urban/indoor) line and point mode are available in the demo-version. This is especially important for the computation models with longer computation times if only some prediction points are of interest. - Hybrid Mode The hybrid mode is also enabled in the new demo-version. Now an empirical prediction is possible in a larger area (called empirical prediction area) around the actual prediction area/lines/points. This is especially important if the computation time must be reduced for the computation of large areas or if the preprocessing for the large empirical prediction area is not comnputed. - Adaptive Resolution Management (ARM) To reduce the file size of the preprocessed data bases for the intelligent ray tracing the new ARM (Adaptive Resolution Management) is implemented in the demo-version. This reduces the file size of the preprocessed data to 50% (and even less, depending on the data base). - Ray Tracing (Standard) for Indoor The ray tracing for indoor scenarios is now available in the demo-version. Currently only the standard ray tracing is enabled. The intelligent ray tracing for indoor is still only available in the full version of the package. But due to different requests from our customers we will enable the intelligent ray tracing for indoor scenarios in the next demo-version of WinProp (available in 11/99). - Small update of the GUI We slightly updated the graphical user interface of ProMan (Propagation module of WinProp). Some new features for the (post-)processing of the results and some improvements in the menues of the project settings lead to a more intuitive user interface. - New User Manual An update of our free user manual is also available on the WWW (http://www.winprop.de/programs/user_ref.pdf or http://129.69.95.250/programs/user_ref.pdf). The update describes the user interface of the software more detailled answering most of the questions occuring during the test of the software. - New Demo-Version of WallMan A new version of WallMan for the generation of building data bases is also available on the WWW. **********************************************************************
