Applications of the 3G network simulator

Besides pure network planning, WinProp is also used for a detailed understanding of 3G networks.

Radio Resource Management for 3G HSDPA networks The research center of Alcatel-Lucent (Bell Labs) in Germany works with WinProp's 3G dynamic network simulator to optimize  algrithms for the radio resource management and for the scheduling of the data packets in UMTS-FDD HSDPA networks. Especially the high flexibility of the 3G simulator allows a very detailed analysis of the throughput and Ouality of Service.
3G cellular networks and EMC The German cellular network operator T-Mobile and the city of Attendorn investigated different topologies of cellular networks to guarantee coverage and to minimze exposure. These investigations were made with WinProp's urban propagation models and with the 3G network simulator. 3G Indoor Networks Alcatel-Lucent in France works with WinProp's 3G dynamic network simulator to analyze the performance of 3G networks in complex indoor scenarios. Especially in large office buildings with many users on a small area s the accuracy of the indoor propagation models is very important when evaluating different network topologies.
