PLATON Project

Planning Tool for the Connectivity in Sensor Networks

Measurement Campaigns

Within the framework of the PLATON (PLAnning tool for the connecTivity of sensOr Networks) project, AWE Communications develops a software package for the simulation of sensor and MESH networks.

The HTW Dresden (University of Applied Sciences in Dresden, Germany) contributes measurements in sensor networks for the optimization of the accuracy of the new propagation models. The measurements have been taken in different indoor and rural propagation environments on the university campus of the HTW Dresden and in a park nearby.

AWE Communications modeled the measurement environments and performed several wave propagation simulations along the measurement routes in order to optimize and validate the new propagation models for wireless sensor networks. Please click on the links below to get more details about the measurements and the comparisons with the wave propagation simulations.
