WinProp Indoor Plug-In for Aircom Enterprise and Forsk Atoll

Introduction

 

Aircom Enterprise (incl. NSN NetAct) and Forsk Atoll (incl. ALU 9955) are designed for network planning in outdoor scenarios.


If you are interested in indoor network planning, you can extend your RNP (either Enterprise or Atoll) to a full indoor radio network planning tool.

The WinProp Indoor Plug-In transforms Enterprise/Atoll into a full indoor and tunnel planning tool. With Enterprise/Atoll and with the WinProp indoor plug-in you do not need any other RNP tool for indoor network planning.

Workflow

 

The indoor plug-in is very easy to use:

  • Generate the indoor database with WallMan either by using WinProp's CAD tool or by converting AutoCAD’s *.dwg and *.dxf data formats (or any other CAD data format). If you want to simulate in tunnels we recommend to use TuMan instead of WallMan.

  • Save the database in WinProp’s data format which can be processed later with the WinProp Plug-Ins for your RNP tool. 


  • With your RNP tool you create a new project, based on the databases generated (see above). You can define the transmitters and the network of the indoor scenario. 
    Based on this approach you can now use the full power of WinProp's indoor propagation engine together with the network planning module of Enterprise or Atoll.

  • You can process each height (floor) in the database individually and Enterprise/Atoll visualizes the results on the different floors. Of course the interference from transmitters on other floors is considered in the simulation as the computation is full 3D.
