Aircom ASSET3G/ENTERPRISE

Integration of urban propagation modules into Aircom ASSET3G/ENTERPRISE

Integration

Aircom ASSET/ENTERPRISE is a radio network planning tool for the planning and optimization of multi-technology mobile networks. The ASSET/ENTERPRISE software package includes several empirical wave propagation models which can be used as a basis for the optimization and planning tasks. These empirical models are limited in accuracy as they rely only on the direct ray or the vertical plane. They do not consider relevant 3D map data during the prediction.

AWE Communications offers its deterministic, semi-deterministic and empirical wave propagation models as plug-in models for ASSET/ENTERPRISE. The newest wave propagation model combines the advantages of the semi-deterministic Dominant Path Model with knife edge diffraction models.

Prediction with the dominant path modell

By using the highly accurate wave propagation models from AWE Communications within Aircom ASSET/ENTERPRISE the network design reaches a new quality. This is especially important in dense urban areas with high traffic volumes where interference issues are very important.

A free evaluation license (for Aircom ASSET/ENTERPRISE 5.2) together with sample data (based on the Jersey example provided by Aircom) is provided by the AWE support team.

Propagation Model

The following list gives an outline of the most important features of AWE's propagation model. It should be mentioned that the model is based on  topo and clutter pixel data. To improve the accuracy, additionally 3D vector data of urban buildings can be considered (or high resolution pixel data of the buildings).
