Gerd Woelfle

Gerd is the CTO of the company and responsible for

• the WinProp software suite including ProMan, WallMan and AMan.
• all development activities and the evolution of the WinProp software package
• the integration of customer-specific extensions into the Winprop suite

Since 1993 Gerd has been engaged in wireless communications and he has developed software (propagation models, network planning tools) and hardware (measurement equipment, basestation transceivers) for the wireless industry. In his PhD thesis he analyzed mobile radio channels and he developed adaptive propagation models for indoor scenarios.
Gerd has authored and co-authored more than 70 scientific papers, got two best paper awards at international conferences and holds international patents in USA, Japan, and Europe.

Reiner Hoppe

Reiner is responsible for the

• SIMPLON project
  
• satellite activities within AWE Communications
  
• evolution of the deterministic (ray-optical) propagation models for urban and indoor scenarios
  
• Atoll/A9955 Propagation Plug-In
  

In his PhD thesis Reiner developed the IRT (Intelligent Ray Tracing), a new ray tracing algorithm with extremely short computation time and high accuracy.
Reiner is involved in the development of propagation models since 1995 and has published more than 45 scientific papers, several journal papers and a chapter in the Wiley Encyclopedia of Telecommunications.

Rene Wahl

Rene is responsible for the

• evolution of the Dominant Path Model (DPM)
  
• SIFUKO project
  
• development of propagation models for time-variant scenarios.
  
• integration of the propagation models into other software tools (Plug-Ins)
• Aircom Enterprise/NSN NetAct Propagation Plug-In  

Many scientific papers and the PhD thesis of Rene are related to the Dominant Path Model and to the propagation models for time-variant scenarios.

Oliver Staebler

Oliver is responsible for the

• MIMO extensions of WinProp
  
• Connectivity simulator ConMan for sensor and MESH networks
  
• PLATON project
  
• 2.5G, 3G, and WiMAX network planning modules.
• all input data converters (topography & clutter, urban, and indoor) and data export filters

Several scientific papers and the PhD thesis of Oliver are related to the MIMO radio channel.

Angelika Woelfle

Angelika is the CFO of the company and she is responsible for

• administration and finances
• accounting department
• tax related issues
• Customs, export authorities, etc.
• human resources

Besides the above listed activities, Angelika is also responsible for the negotiation of the research and development contracts (financial part) with the partners of AWE Communications.

Thomas Hager

Thomas is the sales director of AWE Communications and responsible for

• all sales activities (including the WinProp software suite as well as the propagation plug-ins).
• all marketing activities
• the support and validation teams
  

For most customers, Thomas and his team are the initial point of contact inside AWE Communications. They are accompanying the customer during the evaluation and purchase phase. And of course also in the post-sales phase (installation, support, ...).
