Introduction

 

On this website useful short videos are available, showing the steps that have to be followed in order to accomplish basic tasks like creating a project or running a prediction.

To watch the videos, Macromedia Flash Player must be installed on the system.

Creation and prediction of a Rural project

 

The project is created in a rural database of arround 25 Km2, including topography, and a site with a directional antenna is placed. Some settings are selected, like frequency, power, ... The prediction of the Dominant Path Model is run.

Creation and prediction of an Urban project

 

Urban database of 2000 buildings aproximately and an area of 8.8 km2, topography included. The project consists of a directional antenna placed in the middle of Munich. The prediction is based on the Dominant Path Model.

Rays and Impulse Response visualization of an Urban project

 

The prediction is already computed and the field strength is displayed. The rays corresponding to certain point are visualized. Moreover, the 2D Channel Impulse Response (CIR) and the spatial CIR are shown.

Creation and prediction of an Indoor project

 

This indoor database of the Institute of Radiofrequency Technology at the University of Stuttgart contains 100 walls and 130 subdiviions. A site with a direcctional antenna (importing the antennna pattern) is placed and the Dominant Path Model is predicted.

Rays and Impulse Response visualization of an Indoor project

 

Some rays are displayed over an already computed indoor prediction (in the same database as the previous example).  Furthermore, the 2D and 3D Channel Impulse Responses are viewed for a couple of points.

Creation and prediction of an Indoor project & WLAN Network Planning

 

The project consits of a building where a Leaky cable and two sites (with omnidirectional antennas) are placed. Some parameters are set, like the frequency, that is chosen according to the 802.11g standard of Wireless Technology. The prediction for each element is computed and then the results for the whole network.

Creation and prediction of an Urban project & UMTS Network Planning

Three sites are placed in Munich based on the UMTS-FDD standard. After selecting the corresponding parameters the propagation is run, as well as the network propagation. Several results like Best Server, Coverage and SNIR are displayed.

Creation and prediction of a GPS Satellite project

 

A new urban project is started for satellite propagation. A TLE file is imported and the point and instant of reference are selected. The visible GPS satellites are checked and the prediction is run using the IRT model.
